Choosing the right hotel is about far more than finding a highly rated or expensive property.
There are many excellent hotels, but the important question is which one fits the particular traveler. A contemporary, trendy hotel may be perfect for one client and completely wrong for another. A honeymooner may want something very different from a traveler interested in heritage and history.
We look at the person first and the hotel second.
Location affects both the experience and the logistics of a trip. The setting and views can be particularly important in destinations such as Lake Como, while in a city the hotel's position can determine how easily you reach the places you want to visit.
We consider both the atmosphere of the location and how well it works with the rest of the itinerary.

We still choose the hotel based on whether it is right for you. Virtuoso benefits are an additional part of the relationship, not the reason we recommend a particular property.
Sometimes. Preferred hotel programs can provide access to potential upgrades and other amenities, but an upgrade should never be presented as guaranteed unless the property has specifically confirmed it.
We also prefer to select the right room category from the beginning rather than relying on an upgrade.
We have a broad collection of hotels we enjoy working with, but we do not assume that a hotel is right for every client.
Where possible, we inspect properties ourselves and use our relationships with hotels and local partners to understand how they actually operate. We then match the property to the traveler's preferences, rather than simply recommending the most prestigious option.
Problems can happen even at excellent properties. If something needs to be resolved, you can contact us and, where appropriate, our local partner can assist on the ground.
Because we know the itinerary and work with trusted local partners, there can be both a central point of contact and local support.
No. Price does not determine whether a hotel is the right fit.Every hotel has its own character, design and atmosphere. We look at the level of hospitality, but also at whether the property matches the client. The right hotel is the one that works for the traveler, not necessarily the one with the highest price.
